Being a First Generation student is far from easy and I’m a living testimony that it is possible. To all my students who are seeing this. Ponte Las Pilas! I believe in you! Being a member of the Alianza’s Mesa Directiva is an honor and privilege. I encourage all of our students to begin to express their leadership and their advocacy in any institution they are in! Si Se Puede!

Biography

I am a first generation Mexican American who was born in Downtown Los Angeles to a Mother from Michoacan and a Father from Jalisco. I lived in Echo Park for about 3 years before moving to a small farm town South of Fresno called Reedley. I am the second in my family to attend college but I’m proud to say I will be the first to obtain his degree. I am currently in my fourth & final year here at Sonoma State & I am excited to see all the work that not only I am doing but the entirety of our BIPOC organizations and groups are doing as well. I am also heavily involved on campus and the community. If you are interested in connecting please reach out! I would love to grab a coffee locally or via zoom!
